Hi guys,
I have a simple question about artificial light input... Is it possible to import to Ecotect the productors standard databases (or better the Plugins fabricant)? Their format is .mdb, have you ever heard of it?
I think this will be very usefull...
Thank you very much,
Kind regards,
Debora
P.S. I have been waiting for an answer on the Thermal Topic.... just to remind you

mdb format ?...

Hi Debora,
More than willing to look into and have a go at importing other file formats that may be useful to users -- however, could you let us know more about what these formats are that you refer to ?
We have done a bit of searching, but haven't really come up with anything useful. If you have any web links, perhaps the name of the organisations that maintain the formats or something, that would be really useful

Hi Caroline,
I started to use DIALux 3 for Artificial Lighting simulation. So I thought it would be interesting to link all existing DIALux databases to Ecotect in order to integrate Artificial Lighting Simulation with Daylighting.
Many Societies of Artificial Lighting has developped databases for DIALux which cannot be opened by Ecotect. For more information about these databases you can look at www.dial.de, then select English (I suppose) / DIALux Software / Data PlugIns. There you will find the list of all Societies which have developped databases for DIALux.
Let me know if you need more information,
Regards,
Debora

Not sure if this is going to be possible Debora.
I'm having trouble finding out stuff as it seems to be a Dialux (perhaps propriatry) format which is very Europe orientated -- hense I'm not finding much info. in English.
The site you refer to I did visit, and located a philips database but it was password protected...
I'll get Andrew to have a look and see if he can understand the format etc. but I'm not sure how much luck we're going to have...

Dialux 2008
Hi,
I’ve just read this post, and as an Ecotect and Dialux user I think it would be great if they could work together since the Dialux have a very complete database for artificial light.
The modeling way is very similar as I can see; correct me if I'm wrong.
What is the possibility for the Ecotect use the Dialux database ??
After 5 years I think that you could take a look on it again.
Regardes,
Gustavo
