hi, is it possible to convert all the parameters and attributes of the 3d model in ecotect into any data management software like excel and create a synchronisation between the numeric values exported and the 3d modelthrough scripting, so that if numeric value is altered the model shall get update and vice versa. Actually i need to do this as part of my thesis. pls help me if any one know abt this. I can send my thesis abstract if required.

Sync Model to Data
Hello Ambu,
You should be able to go from your Ecotect model to Excel rather easily via scripting.
Going the other way around is beyond my knowledge at this time.
I cannot think of how to export the data from Excel back into Ecotect, but it sounds very interesting.
Best,
Olivier
synch model to data
hi, olivier thanks for ur immediate reply. i found the excel datas can be read by ecotect scriptor thru C library functions. but now i want to know weather ecotect can export selective physical parameters of the model? or exporting as .MOD file is the only way? If u have any method to export the physical parameters pls help me with that.
Is it possible to meet Andrew or Olivier in caadria 2007 bcaz I have subitted my abstract to PG consortium Caadria 2007. I hope meeting you there will throw some light in my thesis.
with this am attaching my thesis abstract and methodology.
Sync Model to Data
Hello Anbu,
Yes, I think you may be able to do that via scripting. You will probably have to work with the nodes of the geometry you are building. These nodes should have a xyz coordinates which you can get from a script and export to excell.
I have no plan on participating in the Consortium; please let us know how things progress with your thesis. It sounds very promissing.
Best,
Olivier
