Cameras for Radiance imges

I have been exporting Ecotect models with a grid into Radiance for views and then reimporting the Radiance information back into Ecotect for a Rad Illuminance Grid. As part of this procedure I set up camera views in Ecotect for the rendered views I receive from Radiance.

However, I noticed last week that when I keep everything the same and simply relocate the camera in the space for a different view...it changes all the of the illiminance levels on the grid I get back from Radiance.

Why is this? I thought the camera just had to do with giving you a view of the space, not with determining the actual light...that wouldn't make sense.

Now, my concern is that all of this data I compiled for my current project is all based on where the camera is!

Thanks.
Erin
