light pipes

Hello,

i would like to include light pipes in my model.

I tried to do that in some different ways, and I saw that the simulation of DLF at the end give me the same value if i put in the roof a tube or just a skylight (with the same dimension of the void). Somebody can confirm that is what the program does?

For that reason, i was trying to use a simple model with just the skylight on the roof, and trying to see what happen working with different coefficient of transparency on the glass.

I guess it is not correct because i compared my results with the ones given by a manifacturer and they are not the same.

Does anyone know what can i do to consider a light pipe in the model (if it is possible)? Is there any coefficient i can give to the glass of the skylight to bring its behaviour near to the one of a light pipe?

Thank you very much,
Sara

Hi
I think you should consider the light pipe as an light source in standard condition, and giving the output profile as the manufacturer`s data.
